Scones
We headed north and stopped in Scone an old site where 40 Scottish king were ordained. On the Moot, a mound where the cheiftains unloaded the dirt from there boots onto the ground, the future king stood on the “Stone of Destiny, thought to have come from Ireland and was declared king. The mound was formed from all that dirt in their boots. The same stone was taken in the 16th century. to Westminster to maintain the royal legitimacy to the throne as it is placed under it.
This is a copy of the stone. The place is called Scone and we were wodering if thais where the padtry is from.
These are some of the landscapes we saw driving on a narrow road up to Ballater after stopping at Scone.
